Where’d you go my love? My passion, my art Elusive spark you are Cloud covered star Lost in my own thoughts I found you again Hoping you’ll stay around My long lost friend I think that I'm seeing signs of life, Oh, I think that I'm seeing signs of life. Welcome back my love Dark ages over now It’s our rennaissance This is our time Wing on wing we fly Veins pumping with signs of life Soaring High Chest thumping with signs of life I think that I'm seeing signs of life, Oh, I think that I'm seeing signs of life.

Black Ice 03:42
Snow makes the branches bow down To me as I walk Back from the store All because the tires on my car Are so bald They can’t grip the black ice I’d just slide and fall I like to lay in bed Wrapped in Grandma’s quilt I just like how it feels With you folded in my arms At the center Of the universe Black ice don’t bother me Don’t got no place to go I just picked up a few things Now I’m good to go Sunshine, you leave me alone!
3.
First light what a fright Reminds you that you had quite a night Takes a pot of blackest brew to start your weary mind If you we’re to chase the worm You’d end up far behind Plug in with your friends Be glad that you’re not like Them who seek ends They count the time worried about every single dime You’re cookin now Feelin right So fortunate and glad to have a life Not sittin in some corner office counting down the time till the right amount of acculmates and you retire Plug in with your friends Be glad that you’re not like Them who seek ends They count the time Worried about every single dime They're worried about every single dime I'm still worried about every single dime We're all worried about every single dime credits

about

The Signs of Life EP signifies a rejuvenation and a step forward for Southern Cities. The album heavily features indispensable new member Andrew Turner on vocals, lead and harmony. It showcases the talents of local virtuoso musicians, bassist Stirling Walsh and fiddler Evie Andrus, and the efforts of seasoned Knoxville drum whiz Chris Bratta (Tim Lee 3). It signifies a step forward in bandleader Matt Montgomery's production vision in conjunction with The Arbor's owner and studio producer John T. Baker (Westside Daredevils) and studio engineer Gray Comer (Kevin Abernathy Band/Wild Things). The lyrical poetry of Luke Brogden grows in scope, incorporating life lessons accrued and the increased participation of the other members in developing its voice, from the personal to the existentially universal. The Signs of Life EP may be a smaller part of a larger work that develops over time, but for now this is the new sound of Southern Cities.
